Garden and Beyond

I loved Elder Wirthlin's talk "Sunday Will Come." Often it feels that Sunday couldn't possibly come. I appreciated the possibility of hope that came with that idea. As I was memorizing the scriptures on Faith, I wondered, without faith you can do nothing, with faith as a grain of mustard seed nothing shall be impossible to you, so I wondered, could I try to use faith that my body would heal? I guess we'll see.... I have gotten so many blessings and pleaded so much! He says that nothing shall be impossible to you... Do I understand Faith well enough to do it? It can remove mountains, and I believe... I guess we'll see... Mathew 17:20, D&C 8:10

Keys-Mathew 16:22-24, 17:20

I like this scripture because of the Saviors reaction. His severe firm response suggests of his desire to not go as Peter says, but his willingness to do it anyway. https://www.lds.org/general-conference/2004/10/faith-and-keys?lang=eng Mark1:31-   The power of intention? Mark 6:34 I like how Jesus inspire of learning that his cousin has been brutally killed still has the emotion to have compassion on the crowd.

Discipleship/The message

The end of Mat:6 The Lord is telling us to calm down and stop worrying because there is nothing that you can do with worrying. I hope I can find a way to take this counsel. I really appreciate the temptations of Satan for the Lord and how the very same temptations apply to us even today. I love how the Savior's method of repelling each temptation is to cleave to scriptures and exercise godly self discipline in doing so.

2Kings 17:8- 25:13

This verse kind of puts into perspective what the Israelites were doing. It says that they walked after the statutes of the Heathen. So the people whom the Lord had commanded that the Israelites destroy because they were wicked, and not of the chosen people. So after all that power and destruction that the Lord had given them, they decide to follow after the people who God destroys. Why is it so hard to learn? All of the things that the Lord had the Israelites make for the temple were pillaged and destroyed or taken away. This is what happens when you abandon what the Lord has given you, you leave it open without a protector, it gets destroyed, desecrated and taken away.

Tabernacle

It's interesting how much detail and exactness is involved in the tabernacle. I think some of the reason is so that the Israelites can recognize how closely they should follow the Lord's commands. There must be endless symbolism in all that he gave.

2Ne 8:22

22  Thus saith thy Lord, the Lord and thy God  pleadeth  the cause of his people; behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again. I understand that the Lord is talking about the Jews and all of the abuse they have suffered through the ages, and that it's not their turn to be abused anymore, but I am also seeing it like this: "Thy God pleadeth the cause of his people"- He pleads my cause, your cause before the Father   "I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, the dregs of the cup of my fury" He has suffered for us that as long as we sincerely repent and try our best we need not tremble or suffer the way he has for us. He has taken the poison out of our hands and drunk it for us.  "thou shalt no more drink it again." Under the condition of sincere repentance we shall be saved.  I truly am grateful for our Savior and all that he has done for us. All the wo

The Creation

  D. & C. 93:29, 33-34 Man was also in the beginning with God. Intelligence, or the light of truth , was not created nor made, neither indeed can be .... For man is spirit. The elements are eternal It’s interesting how he calls us the light of truth. What is the light of truth?? he elect are chosen even “before the foundation of the world,” how is this so? Does that mean that the rest are condemned from the beginning? Elder Nelson mentions, “the purpose of the plan is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.” So my question is- Is the plan successful? If only a few will make it to the Celestial Kingdom, how successful is the plan? Then if you think like a business person- how do we boost the numbers? Service. Example. Love. If we as his children were all more focused on these things among his children who do not know, I think we would see miracles. But the plan is eternal life and immortality, not exaltation. So the plan is successful. I
