2Ne 8:22
22 Thus saith thy Lord, the Lord and thy God pleadeth the cause of his people; behold, I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, the dregs of the cup of my fury; thou shalt no more drink it again.
I understand that the Lord is talking about the Jews and all of the abuse they have suffered through the ages, and that it's not their turn to be abused anymore, but I am also seeing it like this:
"Thy God pleadeth the cause of his people"- He pleads my cause, your cause before the Father
"I have taken out of thine hand the cup of trembling, the dregs of the cup of my fury" He has suffered for us that as long as we sincerely repent and try our best we need not tremble or suffer the way he has for us. He has taken the poison out of our hands and drunk it for us.
"thou shalt no more drink it again." Under the condition of sincere repentance we shall be saved.
I truly am grateful for our Savior and all that he has done for us. All the work and love he gives to us.
